My son Henry and his friends organised a charity shoot out at school to raise money for Weston Park. I get choked up when I think about it. The support that we are being given as a family is just beyond wonderful. Watch the video and let Henry explain to you what he’s been up…
A journey I wish I wasn’t on…
People say I’m blogging about ‘my journey.’ It’s a journey I wish I wasn’t on, to be fair. I’ve only had two rounds of dual immunotherapy but my liver became so badly inflamed it nearly killed me. The treatment has been paused for quite a few weeks now. I’ve been weaning off steroids and I…
Great company!
I’ve managed to get my steroids down to four doses – I’m a bit tired but I have a gig tonight. I’m taking Henry to see Kelly Jones for the second show in the Manchester stop of the tour. He was asleep in the car on the way there – great conversation with my teenager…
Making memories…
Work today marked the start of Cannon Hall Farm’s none-uniform week. My colleagues are were asked to wear white, blue or yellow (Leeds United colours) and put a contribution into a box for my family. Glastonbury in the garden…
My friend got me tickets for Glastonbury but I wasn’t sure if I would be well enough to go. So my fantastic neighbours decided to host a Glastonbury in the Garden party. What a night! Sometimes it’s great to just forget. And be Elvis.
Take a number…

Starting the day…
It’s Thursday which means a day off – but I’m heading over to hospital today for a check up. My immunotherapy has been paused so here’s hoping it is good news when I get there. I need to get off steroids before I can start it again…I’ll keep you updated on what they say.
Girl on a train…
When I had cancer the first time around, I read a lot. And this was a book I really enjoyed. I couldn’t put it down. So tonight, it’s Date Night. Me and Adele are off to see Girl on A Train at Sheffield Lyceum. It’s really important for me to try for a bit of…
I have no words…
Today, Henry came home with this. I have no words. I am such a proud dad.
In the early days…
I’ve been going through old photos – as you do. And I came across these gems from when I first started in the cheffing world. This was the Russell Hotel in Harrogate. 30 years ago. 30 years!!
