Pub In The Park…

For those who don’t know me, I’m a chef. I’m not just ‘a’ chef, I’ve won awards. I’ve even been on The Great British Menu. During my career I’ve met so many wonderful people – and I can’t believe the messages I keep getting. These lads were at Pub in The Park in Leeds last…

Surf’s Up!

After feeling like I’d no energy yesterday I managed to go walking and taking in the fresh sea air. Feeling better but tired recharged and ready to go again.  The boys are excited about everything – jelly fish, the sea. It’s great to see. Had such a special time making memories.

It’s always week two…

So by now I’ve figured out that it’s week two that immunotherapy hits me. I’ve had the second round of injections and am feeling under the weather again. This is day 31 of dual immunotherapy – I was told that I would go through peaks and troughs and they are exactly right. Thanks to Monica…

This is tomorrow…

What an amazing experience I’ve been able to share with my amazing friends and family. We’ve been to the This Is Tomorrow Festival and it was absolutely outstanding. Henry was off watching Lewis Capaldi (I’m an old fart) and me and Adele were in the VIP area having fun. I had a great catch up…

The endless paperwork…

The reality of having cancer is the endless paper work. There are forms you have to be filling in that you really don’t want to be filling out at when you’re only 47. Appreciate the little things…

Appreciating the little things in life that make me happy. My boys and watching the football! I felt well enough to take Charlie to watch a mate play in his football final last night. Although we are missing the moody teenager around the house this week (Henry is away on a school trip) we’re really…

Strengthening the bones…

So after yesterday’s fantastic message from Raymond Blanc, it’s back to reality and additions to my medication list. I now have bone strengthening injection plus daily tablets to try and help ease with the pain and strengthen my leg bone. All the medication I take daily helps me to keep standing and so far helps…

It’s Raymond Blanc!

Well this happened today! I felt totally overwhelmed to receive this message from a truly inspirational chef. I had the honour to work for this man and learn my trade many, many moons ago. I cannot tell you the outpouring of emotion I felt when I got this but the biggest one was pride. Raymond…

Ready for round two…

Day 22 of my journey brings with it the second round of dual immunotherapy – so I’m back again to Weston Park. The thing most people don’t realise is that it takes ages, and I mean, AGES, to run the drip through. I’m talking a minimum six hours. There’s a lot of waiting. And this…

First time for everything…

Three weeks in and this is the first full week I have had off work sick ever! Working and providing for my family is just who I am so I hate not being able to work. Also, I’m missing everyone at Cannon Hall Farm and hoping my treatment tomorrow doesn’t make me feel any worse…
